History of RAPANPA
Making a Difference Since 1994
The Redding Area Physician Associate Nurse Practitioner Alliance (RAPANPA) was founded in 1994 by a group of entrepreneurial providers. Since Redding was a very small town at the time, there were very few NPs and PAs in the area. The organization started with providing continuing medical education to PAs and NPs, as well as organizing legislative action to support candidates that broaden our practice. In addition, it was a source of networking. Various action committees that have contributed to improved patient care, have been formed throughout the years due to the initiation of this organization.
As local organizations with joint professions are not supported by state organizations, RAPANPA is independent. Although we support and encourage PAs and NP joining their respective state organization, this is not mandatory in order to join RAPANPA.
RAPANPA will soon be celebrating it’s 30-year anniversary. Our organization is in the process of compiling photographs and documentation outlining the history and services this organization has contributed to the community. If you have photographs, please contact Kelli Giovaniello at Kelli.giovaniello@gmail.com.
